Skip the pain and keep your #shoegame

It's not kosher to slip out for a night on the town missing one's sky-high heels, but have you ever wondered if flats could be styled for evening rendezvous? Good news is coming your way after the jump!

THE LOOK: Arabian Nights
+ I am wearing a vintage top from Beacon's Closet, a pair of smiley, sequin shorts from Dolls Kill, some textured, nude tights from Target, and a pair of Daniel Green "Kaitlyn" slippers (purchase here).

In my experience, the drama begins long before one's arrival at a club or bar. I cannot take stilt walking on cobbled streets and cracked sidewalks. I also have an irrational (but partially rational) fear of snapping heels while stepping over manhole covers...

Put simply, stylish flats are definitely every girl's saving grace!

For today's post, I styled some sequined smoking slippers into a loud and expressive outfit. My mom has voiced her distaste for this top and, I'll admit, it is a bit clownish. However, I personally love its emerald green color and its flamenco-like, frill collar! Note that I wasn't too shy about pairing those sparkly flats with a pair of "happy" sequined shorts, too!

There are so many fabulous brands for sexy flats. You wouldn't normally associate that word with them, huh?

Mesh with scalloped cap-toe flats, SammyDress.com, $17
This one is a stylish steal!

Valentino Rockstud Patent Leather & Leather Ballet Flats, Saks Fifth Avenue, $745
I feel like every fashion blogger has gone gaga over Valentino's studded footwear, but this one's got a funky, neon color to it.

Chiara Ferragni Disney Maleficent Glittered Loafers, Luisaviaroma.com, $298
Be careful not to get these wet while your friends drool over them! An added plus includes that they're designed by blogger, Chiara Ferragni from The Blonde Salad.

Pretty Ballerinas Two-tone Ballet Flat, Farfetch.com, $150
Wearing the ombré trend is always a good choice. I'm loving the chocolate brown and bronze colors on this pair!

Sophia Webster Loca Suede Pipe-Trimmed Ballet Flats, Saks Fifth Avenue, $350
A good pick to wear for a World Cup-themed party, this pointy flat shows some toe cleavage, for sure.

This weekend, give your footsies a break!
